The MALU Positioning TRIANGLE is made up of:
Webbing straps to go around back of seat
Chest strap made of 2 or 3 pieces of webbing and velcro to fix chest strap across chest
Back straps - to go around chair for attaching with velcro and/or buckle/D-ring
The TRIANGLE itself - made of cordura, and comes in ten bright colours
(Brown Blue Navy Yellow Aqua Red Brick Greens Purple & Black)
Groin Strap with D-ring - Strap to go through D-ring of Groin strap
The Groin Straps go between the legs and attach at the hips. When the TRIANGLE is firmly attached to the chair or/seat, the person is well supported and correctly positioned and should not be able to slide out of their seat. It should be understood that the existing seat belts in any vehicle, car, bus or plane, must be used over the TRIANGLE at all times, as the device is NOT a restraint!
The Attachment Straps and how they attach to the chair or seat.
The TRIANGLE Itself has:
ATTACHMENT STRAPS that go around the chair or seat,
as do Straps for CHEST STRAP and
The GROIN STRAPS go into D-rings that then attach back onto themselves.
The CHEST STRAP Itself is made up of 2 or 3 bands of webbing that go around the chest and secure with velcro.
In Lounge or Reclining Chair:
The straps on Lounge Chair, go into and behind the arms of the chair, are then pulled and
one side is passed through a plastic D-ring, and velcro-ed on to itself. They must be
tight enough to be held in place.
These are the methods by which the person is held IN correctly.
The groin straps must come up between the user’s legs and the straps that go through the D-rings
must be pulled up firmly and velcro-ed on to themselves at the top of the/hips firmly!!!
